So you want to figure out how to get out of debt on your own.  The only problem is that most people do not have the skills, knowledge and time needed to effectively get them out of debt, especially if they are going to try and negotiate on their own.  Debt settlement is a process that is not an easy one if you do not know what you are doing.  It requires the experience and knowledge to get the right job done.  To do it alone with no prior know how is not the brightest of all ideas and should be taken not with a grain of salt.
