Persuasion Power – Stories

February 28th, 2009 by admin

Stories are very powerful persuasion methods.  We’ve learned from stories our whole lives. We’ve learned to listen to stories and look for the moral or the meaning of the story. We’ve also learned that stories are engaging. We have a different way of listening to a story than we do to facts and figures; in fact, you can feel the difference in your body and see it in your posture. Stories become very powerful when you are persuading people. Persuasive stories are different than regular stories fundamentally because they are designed to get your attention, develop a high level of interest, create desire and allow you to draw the conclusions necessary to take action that the persuader wants you to take.
