Views On “India Graduates Millions, but Too Few Are Fit to Hire”

There are two things which we have to consider before saying that this article proves that Indians are capable of doing only rote jobs and careers.

1. Different companies offer different compensation to candidates. Normally the companies doing out sourcing jobs offer less attractive salary to cut costs and do the outsourcing jobs at competitive costs. (If a company can do the same job at a lesser cost in its own country, why would it out source it?) So the better skilled people prefer better paying jobs. They will not prefer companies like the one reported (including Wipro BPO).

2. There are two types of recruitments. THe freshers are recruited either in campus interviews or outside the institutes in mass recruitments where the candidates not selected in campus interviews attend. They may also be from colleges whose standards are not very good. (No company visits such institutes for campus recruitment. ) SO in such interviews you will see candidates like the ones referred in the article.

Now if you still feel, that Indians are not good in doing jobs, well, that is your prerogative. Companies like 24/7 will have less jobs to offer if America or whatever country does not outsource to India and get their jobs done locally.
