We all could use some link popularity

When you think about it their are a lot of things that work online that mimic the real world in practice. For example link popularity works a lot like popularity in high school. If someone had a lot of people liking them for whatever reason then when anyone asked them about that person they would have something positive to say. If several people said something positive about that person then they would in the online world be said to have high Link popularity if they were a website. This is used online essentially to show what sites are the most popular. Like in school the person dropping the name carries more or less respect depending on who they are. Who they are is based on how “popular” they are with other people and the cycle continues. With websites Google uses a similar algorithm to figure out what sites have the most popular sites linking back to them and thus give your site credit depending on how many linkbacks you get from good sites.
