I love all kinds of music but to me the most soul-stirring type of music is always guitar. The clean crisp sound of the strings being expertly played will get my attention in even the noisiest of environments. There is a calming and soothing effect the guitar music has on me and the stress of my day can be washed away almost magically by a lovely guitar piece. The power of the guitar music is just a natural fact, guitars make me happy . I am always carried away to a peaceful place and a brief break from all that is going on around me is a mini vacation in the midst of a hectic world.

A colleague at work was asking me about my hobby of collecting antique glass and I was telling him about some of the beautiful pieces I have collected and how I travel all over the place and discover items in the most unlikely places.

I visit garage sales and antique fairs and sometimes, as in this case, a friend will mention that he has some pieces in his attic that I might be interested to see.

I visited his home and he showed me what he had stored away. I was astonished he had a selection of beautifully crafted antique glass items that had been left to him by his grandmother. I agreed to purchase the lot from him and I have added them to my glass display case.

One thing that I have been wanting to do for a while is to make sure I am doing something with all of my pictures. It just seems like I have so many of them all over the house, but I am not doing anything with them. Maybe if I can find something creative to do with the picture, like to make photo calendars with the pictures. It seems like something fun that I would like to do, and even make them to give as presents to people in my family, like my parents. I know they would like pictures of the kids. 

When I was in high school I had a sunday school teacher that insisted he could teach me the entire tabs to Led Zeppelin’s Stairway to Heaven.  I was familiar with the song and I thought that if I learned the entire thing that would be quite the feat.  Well he walked me through all the picking parts and guitar chords step by step, and eventually, I was beginning to get pretty good at it.  The only part I could never really get a handle on was the solo, it was just too fast.  Every other part I was an expert at, it really helped to have someone teach it to me instead of learning it by myself.

Once a year, usually around the beginning of January, I go to an online website where I make online photo calendar printouts.  I actually make a weekly, monthly and yearly calendar for my home and office use.  My husband always asks for a desk calendar for his office desk so I make one for him as well.  I isn’t complicated.  As a matter of fact it is easier than trying to figure out the photo editing programs I have bought.  I even bought calendar software but found the online service much more user friendly for me.  If you are into creating things that involve family photos then this is something you should try.

Throughout my entire adult life of watching movies, I had always heard about Marilyn Monroe in “The Seven Year Itch”, but had never actually seen it. I had been under the impression that it was some sort of scandalous film about adultery. My youngest daughter is in the middle of a nasty divorce and custody battle.  This whole ordeal has drug on much longer than any of us had expected.  It seems her husband is intent on making things as difficult for her as possible.  They really have no assets that need to be split up.  All that must be split is the mountain of debt they have accumulated and of course the custody of the kids.  Her lawyer is asking for more money before their next court date.  I think I will sell gold coins that I have been collecting for years and give her the money to pay the lawyer.  Hopefully they will bring enough profit to buy us some time.

I came across a whole bunch of old fashioned ghost pictures the other day that got me wondering. Sure they look a bit fake here and there, but when you think about it, the technology of photography was nowhere near as good as it is now. So that got me thinking that maybe they look poor because the photographs were not the best quality.

To our modern eye, we can see the problems with the images because we are accustomed to modern images, but back then, things were not so clear and the images appeared much more realistic. Just because they do not look realistic, doesn’t mean they are not real.

I have been trying to figure out a way to get faster at playing the guitar.  It seems no matter how much I practice I cannot do certain riffs.  I was talking to a friend who is a killer shredder, and he told me that I needed to try the riff master pro system.  Apranently that is what he used to get so good.  I never thought that system like that would work, but it did for him.  I am getting online tomorrow and ordering it.  The sooner that I get get those riffs down, the sooner I can start shredding.
