Alcohol Information and our Educational System

Our educational standards, as well as the academic excellence of many of the highly developed nations, would appear to indicate that we know plenty about alcohol information.  After all, many of the negative outcomes that are associated with alcoholism and alcohol abuse have been stated hundreds, if not thousands of years ago.  Looking beneath the surface of most educational systems, however, lies the fact that millions of students, some of whom are not even teenagers, are alcohol abusers or alcoholics.  Based on what is now known about excessive and abusive drinking, this statistic is simply appalling and unacceptable.  Obviously, our educational systems need to get more in sync with what is currently known about alcohol abuse and alcoholism.
