Is Reversing Heart Disease A Possibility?

July 31st, 2008 by admin

There really is no sure fire way in reversing heart disease.  There are so many variations of heart disease and many are diagnosed after the heart has been damaged.  Blockages in the coronary arteries is the most widespread heart disease and when this happens, part of the heart muscle may be damaged or die.  After a heart attack, certain lifestyle changes can be made and these include lowering blood cholesterol levels, eating a healthy diet which includes staying away from some foods that clearly are not heart friendly, reducing the amount of alcohol consumed, exercising and stopping the nicotine habit.  Medications may need to be administered and surgical intervention can be used to reverse symptoms of heart disease.  Angioplasty and bypass procedures have shown some very real results, but unfortunately there can also be some negative results.  Maintenance of a healthy lifestyle will go a long way in protecting you from heart disease and ensure that you live as healthy a life as possible.
