The Lapband Surgery Operation

April 6th, 2008 by admin

The major objective of the Lapband Surgery is to place a band around the upper part of the stomach limiting the size of the stomach.  This procedure will also limit the amount of food taken into the stomach and reduce hunger sensations. The patient is administered a general anesthesia for the operation.  On the upper part of the stomach is placed a band which creates a pouch of 15cc.  At anytime it can be adjusted and made smaller and larger as time goes by. The inflation and deflation procedure is performed in about 15 minutes.  It helps the patient keep the weight off while trying to achieve their ideal weight. The Lapband solution is a good consideration for those who over 18 years old who want to lose a great amount of weight.
