I put the onus of blame on my mother when it comes to my love for Major League Baseball (MLB).

Growing up as the middle of three boys, I was the only one who really followed the game my mother loves with intensity.

The hours I spent pouring over the stats printed on the backs of my prized baseball cards were proof of my baseball geekiness.

As I look at our two boys and how much they love baseball, I can see big pictures of myself.

Who knows if they’ll grow up to have the 2009 MLB Baseball Schedules posted by their desks (future seasons of course). But if they do, they’ll know where to post the blame.
