For thousands of years, Mankind has been adorning itself with jewellery. Jewellery is seen as a symbol of wealth and status, and in medieval times was even used as a form of currency. It can be made of precious metals and stones, as well as cheaper materials with appealing designs. Some forms of jewellery have a functional purpose, for example hijab pins are primarily used to fasten the hijab scarf around the head of a Muslim woman.
Islamic Jewellery is the term used to describe hijab pins, pendants with Arabic religious inscriptions on them, rings with Islamic slogans and articles engraved on them, and any other form of adornment that is connected to the belief system of Muslims. Islamic jewellery is a rapidly growing industry as more and more Muslims choose to express their faith outwardly but discretely, something that jewellery products allow them to do.
