Brazil is like the United States

Much like the United States Brazil has three branches of government. The same names even: executive branch, legislative branch, and judicial branch. Also like the United States, Brazil’s Presidente holds office for a four year term; then has the chance to run again and be elected for another four year term. Brazil is divided into twenty-six states and a Federal District, each with its own governor. Each governor must be elected into office holding over 50% of the votes. If there are two candidates that qualify there is a second round vote with just those two. Whomever gets the most votes in the second round resides as governor of the state.
