At my job there is a policy that you cannot wear open toed shoes. Everyone has to wear work appropriate closed toed shoes everyday. This is a hot debate among the women in the office because we all feel that during the summer months we should be able to wear open toed sandals. All the types of shoes we would like to be able to wear are very workplace appropriate. The other end of the argument is that it would look like we were going to the beach. This is not true though. Flip-flops would look like we were going to the beach; not nice conservative sandals that happen to shoe our toes. The summer months are hot and most close toed shoes are made out of material that is thicker for the winter. Hopefully we can take a vote and the women can win.
