There are a lot of people who seem to assume that you need to be packing a heavy wallet to take in the carnival events in Brazil.  However, the truth is that people of all economic classes have the opportunity to take in this event.  It’s just simply a matter of creating a realistic budget for carnival, and then executing it.  With a little bit of self control staying on budget is easy.  Yes the price of a hostel is high, and there is very little way around that.  But the beers are cheap if you drink them on the street, and there is no need to pay hundreds of dollars to enter the ropes of a moving parade, you can enjoy it just the same from outside.
