The Alhambra Palace is located in Granada Spain, which is in the south of the country.. It was the palace from which the Moors ruled Spain for hundreds of years after they conquered Spain, until the Reconquista (the reconquering of Spain by the Christians and the ousting of the Muslims). Granada was the last city conquered by the Spanish. It is now a well-known tourist attraction for visitors to Spain. The Moors started building the Alhambra in the 13th. century but successive Muslim rulers added sections to the structure. It is one of the best examples of Moorish architecture in the world.
